Strolly Poly

The Strolly Poly is a type of cattle native to the Forgotten Ruins and the Desert of Beginnings. Like other breedable livestock, it can be kept and bred by the player, and two Strolly Polys can be used to produce a Strolly Poly Nymph. It also serves as a food source for insect-based feeding, producing one Strolly Poly Plate for every two insects it eats.

Strolly Polys found in the world spawn with a random color. Breeding follows a separate color inheritance rule: the offspring has a 60% chance to inherit the color of one random parent, and a 40% chance to mutate into a random color instead. This makes breeding a practical way to stabilize or diversify color variants over time.

Natural spawn colors are not evenly distributed. In the Forgotten Ruins, the most common color appears at 40%, followed by two colors at 20% each, then 13.33%, and 6.67%. In the Desert of Beginnings, the distribution is different, with one color at 35.71%, followed by 21.43%, then two colors at 14.29% each, and the rarest at 14.29%.

• Strolly Polys can be bred in pairs to obtain a Strolly Poly Nymph.
• World-spawned Strolly Polys always appear with a random color.
• Breeding does not guarantee the same color as the parents; mutations can occur.
• If you are trying to collect specific color variants, the Forgotten Ruins and Desert of Beginnings favor different distributions, so hunting in both biomes can be useful.
• Feeding them insects is the way to obtain Strolly Poly Plates, at a rate of one plate per two insects consumed.
