Dodo

Long believed to be extinct this species is still thriving in the underground: the dodo! If only Darwin could have seen this...
Overview
The Dodo is a livestock creature native to Azeos' Wilderness and the Desert of Beginnings. It can be raised as a farm animal and produces one Dodo Egg for every two insects it eats, making it a useful source of eggs when kept near a steady supply of insect food. Two Dodos can also be bred together to create a Dodo Chick.
Dodos that spawn naturally can appear in a random color. When breeding, a chick has a 60% chance to inherit the color of one of its parents and a 40% chance to mutate into a random color instead. Their available colors are tied to both spawning region and breeding, so collecting different variants is mostly a matter of finding or breeding enough Dodos over time.
- Natural Dodos in Azeos' Wilderness have a different color distribution than those in the Desert of Beginnings.
- Breeding does not guarantee a parent’s color, but it is still the most direct way to expand a herd.
- Since Dodos only produce eggs after eating insects, keeping them in an area with reliable insect access is important for steady output.
