Skill Scrubber

Overview

Skill Scrubber erases skills from a Duplicant’s mind and returns them to their default abilities. It is used to remove previously assigned skill points, effectively resetting a Duplicant so their skill choices can be rebuilt around current colony needs.

Because erased skills also remove their associated morale requirements, Skill Scrubber is useful both for correcting poor skill allocation and for managing morale. When a colony is short on morale or no longer needs a Duplicant in a particular role, skill-scrubbing them and reassigning only the necessary skills can make them easier to support. This is especially helpful before sending Duplicants to other planetoids, whether by rocket or teleporter, since it lets them travel with a lower morale burden.

A few practical details make it easier to use:

  • Skill Scrubber does not save progress separately for each Duplicant. If one Duplicant is interrupted while using it, the building keeps its progress, and the next Duplicant to use it will continue from that point.
  • This means you can "preheat" the Skill Scrubber by starting the process in advance, so the actual skill reset can happen immediately when needed.
  • It is a good way to remove skills that are no longer useful when labor demand changes, then shift the Duplicant toward a more practical build.

In short, Skill Scrubber is both a respec tool and a morale-management tool, making it one of the most useful support buildings for reorganizing a colony’s workforce.
