Scratcher

Scratcher is a building used by beavers in Timberborn. It provides an aesthetic and functional interior decoration where beavers interact briefly while not performing other tasks. Scratcher appears as a small, freestanding scratching post placed inside buildings or on outdoor platforms, and it is constructed through the standard building placement interface.

Placement and construction follow the game's usual building rules: Scratcher occupies a single floor tile and requires beaver workers to build and maintain it once placed. It integrates with indoor furniture and decoration systems and does not produce resources or consume power. Beavers will occasionally use the Scratcher when idle and not assigned higher-priority jobs, contributing to their welfare by reducing idle time and improving the visual variety of a settlement.

• Scratcher is purely decorative in terms of resource flow: it does not store, convert, or generate materials.
• It must be within reach of beavers (connected by walkable tiles) to be used.
• Use Scratcher to increase variety in interiors and to give idle beavers a place to go that looks intentional rather than leaving them standing.
