Ra-Akar the Sand Titan

Overview
Ra-Akar the Sand Titan is a boss found in the Desert of Beginnings and the third of the six titan bosses unlocked after powering up The Core. Defeating Ra-Akar and then interacting with its soul grants the Soul of Ra-Akar, which is required for progression.
Ra-Akar is summoned by placing a Thumper in its arena, which is located about 600 tiles from The Core. A Ra-Akar the Sand Titan Scanner can reveal the arena’s position on the map. After it is defeated, Ra-Akar can only be summoned again once its soul disappears, which takes about 5–6 minutes.
Ra-Akar’s arena fight revolves around mobility and reading its attack patterns. It uses six different attacks:
- It buries itself in the ground and charges around the arena while immune to damage.
- It summons lines of sand rings in either a clockwise or counter-clockwise pattern. Small gaps between the rings let the player slip through safely.
- It sends a wave of sand rings outward from itself to the edges of the arena.
- It creates multiple sand rings at the player’s location.
- It summons multiple Bomb Scarabs at random points in the arena.
- It fires 6 triangle-shaped ancient projectiles that track the player and accelerate quickly. These can be avoided by outrunning them or luring them into a wall, and can also be destroyed by explosive weapons such as the Burnzooka or the Volcanic Mortar.
Because several of Ra-Akar’s attacks fill large parts of the arena, staying mobile is the most important part of the encounter. The sand ring patterns leave narrow openings, so positioning matters as much as raw damage. The tracking projectiles are especially dangerous if space is limited, since they become faster over time; destroying them with explosives or forcing collisions with arena walls helps reduce pressure during longer phases. The Bomb Scarabs add extra hazards, so keeping an eye on the entire arena is important rather than focusing only on Ra-Akar itself.
