Morpha the Aquatic Mass

Overview
Morpha the Aquatic Mass is an optional boss found in the Sunken Sea. It appears in a slime-covered area roughly 700 tiles from The Core, and can be located with a Morpha the Aquatic Mass Scanner, which reveals its position on the map. When Morpha is nearby, a loud thumping sound plays and the screen shakes, making its presence easy to notice even before it is visible.
After Morpha is defeated, it can be summoned again by placing a Giant Slime Summoning Idol on its rune, which is located below its original spawn point. This makes the boss repeatable once the player has reached its arena and learned the fight.
Morpha’s behavior changes as combat progresses. At full health, it will only begin attacking players within a 6-tile radius, but once damaged that range expands to 20 tiles. Its main attack is a quick leap toward the closest player, dealing damage on landing and leaving a patch of Ground Slippery Slime behind. Morpha also destroys any non-indestructible objects in its path, including walls, and fills pits or liquids with Beach Block ground as it moves. Every 3 to 6 seconds, it pauses briefly and fires 30 bubbles in random directions; these bubbles deal moderate damage and are one of the main threats in the fight. If the player moves too far away during the battle, or if Morpha travels more than 25 tiles from its rune, it will return to the rune and regenerate health at 10% of its maximum every 5 seconds. At 30% health, Morpha becomes enraged and begins moving much faster.
The fight is strongly affected by arena setup. Because the bubble attack makes close combat dangerous, ranged weapons are generally preferred. A larger fighting area also helps a great deal: clearing out an area about 5 to 10 blocks larger than the default arena and using a Scarlet Hoe to quickly cultivate the ground and remove Ground Slippery Slime makes movement easier and reduces the risk of being trapped. Expanding the arena also prevents other enemies from spawning during the battle, which is especially useful since Morpha’s bubbles and lingering slime can otherwise overwhelm the player when fighting in tight quarters.
In practice, the safest way to handle Morpha is to keep moving, stay out of melee range, and fight from a prepared open area where its leaps and bubble shots are easier to avoid.
