Oblidra the Void Lord
Overview
Oblidra the Void Lord is an optional boss found within Breaker's Reach. It travels underground in a manner similar to Pyrdra, Crydra, and Druidra, but instead of disturbing normal ground, it appears beneath a puddle of void-like matter. Oblidra cannot be damaged until it is summoned to the surface by placing a Wind Organ of Void close enough to it.
A Oblidra the Void Lord Scanner can be used to reveal its location on the map. Once defeated, Oblidra respawns at a random location in Breaker's Reach.
Oblidra spawns together with the souls of Druidra, Crydra, and Pyrdra. These souls are invulnerable to attacks and fight alongside Oblidra throughout the encounter. Oblidra itself has protective armor shown by a yellow bar above its health bar; this armor absorbs damage until it is broken. When the armor is depleted, Oblidra becomes paralyzed and falls to the ground, making it vulnerable, while the souls continue attacking normally. After about 9.3 seconds, it resumes fighting and fully regenerates its armor. Its health loss during each vulnerable period is soft-capped at 25% of its maximum health, so the boss must be paralyzed at least four times to defeat it.
Oblidra and the souls share some attacks, and they also each have one unique attack of their own. Common attacks include a close-range slam that deals damage to nearby players and is preceded by a hissing sound, as well as a purple beam fired from its mouth that tracks the player. Between attacks, Oblidra and the souls burrow underground and switch positions, damaging nearby players when they emerge.
Their unique attacks add different hazards to the fight:
- Oblidra creates up to four void puddles. These puddles either slowly track the player or move in a wide semicircular path.
- Pyrdra spits fireballs into the sky that fall in a line, with red markers showing where they will land. On impact, they leave Ground Magma Slime.
- Crydra creates an ice crystal on the ground that continuously fires two volleys of ice shards in a spiral pattern. The ice block can be destroyed by any attack.
- Druidra roars skyward, summons several blocks to fall from above, then begins pulling players inward. Wind effects on the ground mark the area that will be hit by the following shockwave. After a short delay, Druidra releases the shockwave, dealing heavy damage and destroying exposed blocks. This attack can be avoided by hiding behind a block or moving far enough away.
The fight is designed around movement, terrain, and timing your damage windows. The safest openings usually come when Oblidra is paralyzed, since its armor is down and its body is exposed, but the souls continue to pressure the player during that time. It is important to keep track of the burrow-and-emerge cycle, since each reappearance can damage nearby players and immediately set up another attack pattern.
