Multi-Press

The Multi-Press is a production building that compresses Coal into Graphite while requiring water for cooling. It converts inputs into Graphite at a faster effective yield than the basic Graphite Press by using a 3 Coal → 2 Graphite recipe and consumes water as a coolant each production cycle.

Each production cycle runs every 0.5 seconds, consuming 3 Coal and 3 Water per cycle (equivalent to input rates of 6 Coal/sec and 6 Water/sec) and producing 2 Graphite per cycle (equivalent to 4 Graphite/sec). The building draws 108 power/sec while operating.

Practical notes and usage:

• Place the Multi-Press where both Coal supply and a steady Water source are available, or connect it to a pumped water network; it requires continuous water throughput to maintain full output.
• Because it consumes water as coolant, ensure pipes are sized and routed to avoid pressure drops or intermittent flow that will reduce production.
• The Multi-Press yields a superior Coal-to-Graphite conversion compared to the Graphite Press: its ratio of 3 Coal → 2 Graphite (1.5 Coal per Graphite) is more efficient than the Graphite Press’s 2 Coal → 1 Graphite (2 Coal per Graphite). Use Multi-Presses when you want higher Graphite output per unit of Coal and have reliable water support.
• The building has a high power cost; plan power generation accordingly to avoid brownouts when multiple Multi-Presses run simultaneously.
• Because production is time-stepped (0.5 s cycles), small mismatches in input buffering or intermittent flow will disproportionately affect throughput; consider short buffer storage for Coal and Water to smooth supply.

The Multi-Press is therefore best used in mid- to late-game setups where Coal is plentiful and water infrastructure is established, allowing efficient Graphite production at the expense of additional water and power consumption.
