Practical notes and usage:
- Use
Pause to stop workers building an item temporarily so labor can be redirected to higher-priority projects without demolishing the site.
Pause is useful for preventing a building from operating (for example, to stop a production chain) without destroying the structure or removing its stored resources.
- Paused housing forces loggers/haulers to relocate inhabitants; ensure alternative housing exists to avoid overcrowding or population loss.
- Paused storage will not participate in normal resource routing; plan storage placement and pause state carefully to avoid bottlenecks.
- Haulers can still remove unused items from paused constructions; use this behavior to clear inputs or outputs before reactivating a building.
- Remember to unpause constructions when you want normal activity to resume; paused projects do not automatically restart.
