Overview

The Gatherer Flag is a Timberborn building that creates an area of effect (AoE) used to direct beaver gatherers to collect resources within a large, fixed range centered on the flag. The maximum AoE, measured on completely flat ground with no obstructions, is a 40×41 tile rectangle with the Gatherer Flag occupying the center tile. This maximum range requires unobstructed terrain to achieve.

The AoE extends 18 tiles above the flag, 20 tiles to the right, 21 tiles below, and 20 tiles to the left of the flag. The total tile count of that 40×41 rectangle is 1,640 tiles. Because the Gatherer Flag itself occupies the center tile, the number of affected tiles excluding the flag structure is 1,639. When planning paths and walkable spaces inside the AoE, the shortest contiguous path that can be created through the AoE requires 21 tiles; accounting for that minimum path removes an additional 21 tiles from the pool of unoccupied, gatherable tiles. After subtracting the flag tile and the minimum path, the maximum number of unoccupied tiles that can be influenced by a single Gatherer Flag at full unobstructed range is 1,618.

  • Maximum AoE: 40×41 tiles = 1,640 tiles (centered on the Gatherer Flag).
  • Center tile occupied by the Gatherer Flag; remaining tiles = 1,639.
  • AoE extents relative to the flag: 18 up, 20 right, 21 down, 20 left.
  • Minimum path requirement used in common planning: 21 tiles.
  • Maximum unoccupied tiles affected at full range after subtracting flag and path = 1,618.

Use these measurements when placing Gatherer Flags to maximize coverage of resource fields and to plan paths so gatherers can reach resource tiles efficiently.
