Unipolar Magnet Vein

Overview
Unipolar Magnet Vein is a natural resource node that yields Unipolar Magnets, one of the rarest ores in Dyson Sphere Program. These veins occur only on planets orbiting Neutron Stars and Black Holes. Because of their rarity and their placement on special stellar systems, Unipolar Magnet Veins are a strategic resource for late‑game logistics and construction. The mined ore is intended for interstellar transfer; full exploitation requires an
Veins appear grouped into patches. Each patch contains between 14 and 17 veins, with a per‑patch distribution of 40% chance for 15 veins and 20% chance each for 14, 16, or 17 veins; this yields an average of 15.4 veins per patch. The number of patches on a given planet is a random integer from 1 to 12 with a nonuniform distribution (the expected value per planet is 2.841 patches). Across a galaxy there are always exactly two stars that host
Practical notes and strategies:
- Prioritize locating Neutron Star and Black Hole systems with the planetary scanner early once you need Unipolar Magnets; only the planets around those two star types will host these veins.
- Expect a small number of concentrated patches rather than widespread scattered nodes. When you find a patch, plan a compact mining layout to fully exploit the 14–17 veins in close proximity.
- Because deposits are rare and typically on separate star systems, use Interstellar Logistics Stations to transport ore to your main production hubs. The game explicitly requires an interstellar logistics network to make full use of mined Unipolar Magnets.
- Treat veins on those planets as strategic assets: consider establishing automated collection and direct shipping lanes (logistics channels) rather than overland conveyor networks if the planet is distant or sparsely connected.
- When planning for supply, use the averages above as a baseline: average veins per patch 15.4, average patches per planet 2.841, and average veins per galaxy ~87.5. Because distributions are skewed, actual runs will commonly produce fewer or more veins than the mean; design logistics with some buffer.
- Since Unipolar Magnets are classed among the rarest ores, conserve and prioritize their use in high‑value or late‑game recipes that cannot be replaced by more common resources.
Unipolar Magnet Vein is categorized in the game as both an item source and a natural resource node; its rarity and stellar restrictions make it a high‑value target for exploration, targeted mining, and interstellar logistics planning.
