Overview
Smite is a late-game Erekir turret built for long-range anti-unit fire support. It fires a piercing, shock-inflicting projectile made from
Its main strengths come from its very high per-shot damage and its ability to keep pressure on advancing waves once it is properly supplied. A single shot deals 187.5 damage and has 4x pierce, while the interval lightning bullets deal 30 damage each and apply
Shocked. The ammo is especially efficient against units, but it is much worse against structures, with a large building damage penalty. Its total damage output becomes significantly stronger when cooled with water, raising its fire rate to 250% of normal. When fully boosted, it consumes about 15 water per second to keep firing continuously.
Smite has a relatively small firing range compared to its detection range, so it benefits from being placed where enemies are forced to pass close by. Its warning range is 52.5 tiles, while its actual firing range is 37.5 tiles. This makes it ideal for chokepoints, turns, and outer defense rings where enemies can be engaged before they spread out. It works best as a main firing point in a layered defense, especially when paired with walls and repair support such as Mending coverage.
Because of its low rate of fire, Smite is best used against durable single targets, especially high-tier units. It can also clear groups of lower-tier enemies well when they are bunched together, since the shot pierces and the lightning adds extra area pressure. The turret is particularly valuable when placed so that it can repeatedly hit the same lane without needing to track fast-moving targets across open space.
A few practical points stand out:
- Surge Alloy is its only ammo and gives it full combat performance.
Water cooling is a major part of its strength; without it, the turret is much slower.
- It is most effective when supported by stable supply lines, since interrupted ammo or cooling lowers its value sharply.
- Its low building damage means it is meant for unit defense, not base demolition.
- Pairing multiple Smite turrets or placing them behind sturdy frontline defenses helps compensate for their slower firing rhythm.
Smite was added in Build 136. In Build 147, its water boost was increased, and a minimum 2-second delay before resetting its wind-up was added, making it much more reliable against enemy types that repeatedly trigger its aim cycle. This change especially improved its consistency against missile-type enemies that could previously cause it to lose track too easily.
