Overview

Tungsten Wall is a heavy defensive block made from tungsten alloy that provides robust static protection for bases. It functions as a fortified wall tile with high health and resistance compared to standard walls, intended for frontline fortifications and chokepoints where enemies concentrate their attacks. Tungsten Wall is placed like other walls and integrates with the grid to form continuous defensive lines.

Tungsten Wall appears in tech trees and build menus alongside other armor-grade walls; it requires tungsten as its primary construction material and unlocks at the mid-to-late game tiers where tungsten becomes reliably available from mining and smelting. Because it uses a denser, more durable resource, Tungsten Wall is chosen when players expect prolonged sieges or when protecting valuable structures such as cores, high-value turrets, or production hubs.

In practical use, Tungsten Wall is best deployed in layered defenses and combined with support blocks:

  • Place Tungsten Wall at the outermost line to absorb the first brunt of enemy waves, then back it with repair infrastructure (repair turrets or junctions) and inner weaker walls to stagger enemy damage.
  • Combine corners and T-junctions with Tungsten Wall to create kill zones where turrets can concentrate fire through narrow approach paths.
  • Use tungsten walls to shield slow but powerful turrets and conveyors that would otherwise be prime targets; their increased hit points reduce repair frequency and keep key systems online longer.
  • Integrate with power and item routing by leaving gaps or using door/bridge blocks where controlled access is needed; avoid placing essential conveyors directly along sustained impact points unless shielded.
  • Because Tungsten Wall consumes a relatively rare resource, favor it for critical chokepoints rather than low-risk filler sections; supplement with cheaper walls for broad coverage.

Tungsten Wall responds to enemy damage like other walls and can be repaired by player units, repair turrets, or repair pads. In long-running games, set up automated repair chains and adequate tungsten production (smelters and conveyors) to maintain and replace damaged tiles without diverting player attention. When defending against high-damage or armor-piercing enemies, prioritize reinforcing sections with multiple adjacent Tungsten Walls to take advantage of their collective hit points.

Overall, Tungsten Wall is a durable, resource-intensive defensive option that excels at protecting vital installations and forming the backbone of any serious late-game base defense. Use it sparingly but strategically, combined with repair systems and turret support, to maximize its value.
