EM Weapon Damage
Overview
EM Weapon Damage is a technology that improves the performance of Jamming Capsules. Despite its name, it does not increase any actual damage-dealing effect, because no electromagnetic capsule with a damage effect exists in the game. Instead, this research strengthens the jamming effect and its duration, making it a direct upgrade for disruption-based combat and defense.
The research is associated with Jammer Tower and can be used with both Jammer Tower and
Icarus ammunition. In practice, it is the technology that raises the effectiveness of the Jamming Capsule line, increasing how long and how strongly targets are disrupted.
Its upgrade chain is straightforward and begins with a prerequisite on Jammer Tower. The technology starts at 100% effectiveness and increases in fixed steps as follows:
- Level 1: +5%, for a total of 105%
- Level 2: +5%, for a total of 110%
- Level 3: +10%, for a total of 120%
- Level 4: +10%, for a total of 130%
- Level 5: +10%, for a total of 140%
- Level 6: +10%, for a total of 150%
The research costs also scale up quickly across the levels, starting from a low entry cost and becoming much more expensive at higher levels. This makes EM Weapon Damage a technology that is worth pursuing when a player is actively relying on jammer-based suppression rather than conventional direct damage. Because the name refers to "damage" while the effect is actually a jamming enhancement, it is easy to misread its purpose at first glance.
When planning its use, it is best viewed as a support technology for disabling enemy systems instead of destroying them outright. That makes it especially relevant in situations where extending the disruption window is more valuable than raw firepower.
