Lumberjack Flag

The Lumberjack Flag is the work area marker used by lumberjacks. It defines the zone in which assigned lumberjacks will search for trees to cut, and it is commonly placed near Foresters so tree planting and harvesting can cover the same forest. On completely flat ground with no obstructions, its effective area is a 40×41 rectangle centered on the structure, with the usable range extending 20 tiles left and right, 21 tiles behind, and 18 tiles ahead from the adjacent tile at the entrance side.

Because the building itself occupies one tile and the shortest path through the area can take up additional space, the practical usable coverage is smaller than the full rectangle. In ideal conditions, a single Lumberjack Flag can cover up to 1,618 usable tiles. The range is large enough to make the flag suitable for broad forestry districts rather than small, localized harvesting spots.

A few practical points matter when using it:

• Lumberjacks can fell trees underwater, so the flag can stay on dry land while the work area reaches down into flooded or sunken sections, provided there is access for the beavers.
• Trees of all types take 1.2 hours to cut, and higher Work Speed from improved Well-Being shortens that time.
• Beaver lumberjacks can suffer Chipped Teeth, which reduces their Well-Being by 1 and cuts their tree-felling success rate by 75%, causing logs to fail to appear three out of four times. A Teeth Grindstone fixes this quickly, so districts that rely on lumberjacks should keep one available.
• Bots are not affected by Chipped Teeth.

The Lumberjack Flag replaced part of the old Labor Flag’s function during Closed Beta. In Early Access Launch, it was reduced to a 1×1 building with a capacity of 20.
