Power Source

Infinitely outputs power. Sandbox only.
Overview
The Power Source is a power-generating building that functions as a primary producer on a power network. It supplies electrical energy to connected blocks and forms the backbone of simple power setups. At maximum efficiency a Power Source produces 72 power per second, and it integrates into the same power network system used by nodes, transmitters and storage blocks.
Power Sources do not create an infinite reserve of energy; their output can be completely negated by a
Practical notes and interactions:
- Power Sources feed into power networks that use transmitters (power nodes and similar blocks) to route energy. Transmitters typically have limited range and capacity; plan placement so that Power Sources are within the effective transmission radius of nodes or other routing blocks to reach consumers.
- Batteries and other storage blocks can accumulate surplus energy produced by one or more Power Sources. Storage sizes vary widely — small storages hold a few thousand units while large storages hold an order of magnitude more — so pairing Power Sources with appropriate storage smooths out demand spikes.
- Multiple Power Sources can be used together to raise sustained output for high-draw builds, but network layout and transmitter placement determine how effectively that power reaches consumers.
- The presence of a Power Void or similar nullifying effect in an area will stop Power Sources from contributing to the network; avoid placing critical generators where void effects can intercept their output.
Use Power Sources as straightforward, reliable producers in early to mid-game power architectures, and combine them with transmitters and storages to build stable, scalable energy systems.
