Mini Lodge

Overview
The Mini Lodge is a small residential building for beavers that provides a place to rest and satisfy basic domestic needs. It functions as a compact home that grants inhabitants shelter and access to nearby services that contribute to their overall condition. Mini Lodges are used when space or resources are limited but a reliable dwelling is still required to keep population needs manageable.
Mini Lodges connect into the settlement’s housing supply and influence how beavers meet multiple needs through proximity and access. As with other homes, they do not directly provide all needs themselves; residents still require access to other buildings or area effects to satisfy Social Life, Fun, Spirituality, Awe, Aesthetics, Knowledge and Nutrition. The Mini Lodge primarily serves as the beavers’ base: lacking a functional lodge (or if a resident’s Basic Need is unmet) reduces movement speed by 75% and causes them to refuse work until the need is satisfied. Meeting Boosts-type needs through faction-specific methods (for example,
Folktails consuming Catalysts or
Iron Teeth being in range of a 
Practical notes for using Mini Lodges:
- Place Mini Lodges near the facilities that satisfy non-housing needs (workplaces, food sources, social and fun buildings, faith and awe area effects) to minimize travel time and keep overall condition high.
- Ensure Basic Needs are met for residents; unmet Basic Needs impose severe penalties: -75% movement speed and refusal to work.
- Pair Mini Lodges with nearby boosts when possible to increase the efficiency of workers who live there, following faction rules for Boosts (e.g., Folktails require consumables for their
Catalyst need; Iron Teeth require proximity to a Control Tower).
- Maintain access to Nutrition sources and Knowledge consumables for residents, since Mini Lodges do not supply these directly.
- Use Mini Lodges when you need compact housing that integrates into a denser urban plan; they cost less space than larger residences but rely more on nearby infrastructure to keep villagers content.
