Overview

Titanium alloy is a high-strength construction material used in a number of advanced recipes. It is crafted from Titanium Ingot, Steel, and Sulfuric Acid, and like Steel it cannot be handcrafted. Although each batch produces a fairly large amount, the recipe has a long crafting time and requires a nonstandard smelter layout because it combines multiple input and output types.

Its earliest major uses are in space logistics and related infrastructure, including the Interstellar Logistics Station, Logistics Vessels, and the Mini Fusion Power Plant. It is also consumed by advanced fuel production, such as Deuteron Fuel Rods, and by late-game equipment and buildings including the Miniature Particle Collider. In the endgame, demand rises again because it is a key ingredient in Frame Material and is continuously consumed by Small Carrier Rockets. Many late-game mass production lines therefore need a large Titanium alloy stockpile.

  • For a basic continuous setup in one Arc Smelter, one additional Arc Smelter for Steel and one Chemical Plant for Sulfuric Acid are needed.
  • With abundant Sulfuric Acid, the recipe becomes much easier to sustain, and on planets with Sulfuric Acid oceans it can be produced in huge quantities without complex acid production.
  • A full standard output belt requires 18 furnaces because of the long crafting time.
  • On Sulfuria planets, Sulfuric acid, Iron Ore, and Titanium Ore are often found together in large deposits, making them ideal sites for a dedicated production base.
  • A simple 1:1:1 production chain of Iron Ingot, Steel, and Titanium alloy can be arranged once enough smelters are available.
