Inventor

The Inventor is a Timberborn building that produces Science Points. It is the least efficient producer of Science Points among the research buildings. Its production rate was set to one Science Point per hour as of Update 2.

Inventor complements the other research buildings in the game. The other buildings that produce Science Points are the Observatory and Numbercruncher. Inventors provide a slow, steady trickle of research and can be used to make use of otherwise idle workforce.

• Build spare Inventors in the early game and set their workplace priority to very low so that beavers who would otherwise be unemployed can contribute to research.
• Inventors are intended as low-output research options; use them to supplement research when you do not yet have access to higher-yield research buildings.
• Because Inventors produce only a small amount of Science Points, prioritize placement and staffing only when extra research throughput is needed without pulling beavers from more critical tasks.

The building has evolved across development. It was introduced in Open Alpha, boosted in Closed Beta to be 50% more efficient, and at Early Access launch it was renamed from Inventor’s Hut. The Update 2 patch adjusted its production to the current rate of one Science Point per hour.
