Overview

The Triple Floodgate is a floodgate building used to control water flow by adjusting a vertical height setting that determines how much water the structure blocks. Its maximum height is 3 tiles, and at that setting it blocks up to 3.0 tiles of water depth. Water above the configured height will spill over the floodgate, while water at or below the configured level will not percolate through the building or upstream of the system.

There are two commonly reported ways the Triple Floodgate’s adjustment can be described. One reference lists seven discrete adjustment options: 3.0, 2.5, 2.0, 1.5, 1.0, 0.5 and 0.0, where 3.0 is Completely Closed (blocks 3.0 tiles of water) and 0.0 is Completely Open (blocks 0.0 tiles of water). Another reference describes a finer-grained control that allows the Triple Floodgate to be set anywhere from 0.00 to 3.00 in 0.05 increments; water levels above the specified level spill over, and levels at or below will not pass through the structure. The option to synchronize the height of adjacent floodgates is available and is enabled by default, so linked floodgates change together unless synchronization is disabled.

The Triple Floodgate is categorized with other floodgates and dam-type buildings and is known in Chinese as 三重闸门. It cannot be placed on top of other floodgates.

  • Adjustments: the effective blocking depth equals the set height in tiles; selecting higher settings blocks deeper water, selecting lower settings allows more flow.
  • Range and granularity: maximum range is 3 tiles; reported adjustment interfaces are either seven preset steps (0.0–3.0 in 0.5 increments) or a continuous-like control in 0.05 increments, depending on documentation/version.
  • Synchronization: adjacent floodgates can be synchronized by default to share the same height setting, simplifying multi-gate systems.
  • Placement restriction: Triple Floodgate cannot be stacked on top of other floodgates.
  • Practical use: use higher settings to hold water for reservoirs or protect downstream areas, and lower settings to release excess water or equalize levels; monitor nearby water depths because the gate only blocks depths up to its configured height.

This combination of adjustable blocking depth and optional synchronization makes the Triple Floodgate suitable for precise water management in multi-gate dam and canal systems.
