Overview

Tubeway Station is a beaver-accessible transport building in Timberborn that forms part of the Tubeway System. It can be built underwater, allowing beavers to enter and exit while the structure is submerged. Tubeway Station and the Folktails Zipline Station are among the few beaver-accessible buildings that can be fully submerged without being Flooded. Placing a station in water that is susceptible to Badtide requires caution, because beavers can exit into Badwater and become contaminated.

The Tubeway Station connects to Tubeway and Vertical Tubeway sections using multiple visible sockets. Tubeway and Vertical Tubeway attach to the nine sockets located on the front, back, and sides of the station. Additional connections can be made from the six sockets underneath the station, but those bottom sockets require a Vertical Tubeway to link into them. The Tubeway System is designed for transport, not for long-distance power transmission: unlike some other infrastructure, Tubeway and Vertical Tubeway do not distribute Power to adjacent buildings, and the system as a whole is not intended to replace dedicated power networks.

Builders' Huts behave specially with Tubeway Stations. Unlike the Folktails Zipline Station, Builders' Hut constructs can be performed while a builder is physically inside a Tubeway Station. This allows Iron Teeth builders to directly perform building and cleanup tasks immediately around the station footprint. Beavers assigned to other workplaces must still exit the station for tasks unrelated to construction.

Stations can be placed with their entrance directly against another building’s entrance. This placement effectively bypasses the need for Paths by connecting that building directly to the transport network and allowing seamless movement between adjacent entrances.

  • Tubeway Stations can be submerged and remain usable; avoid placing entrances where Badtide or Badwater exposure is likely, since beavers exiting into contaminated water risk contamination.
  • Tubeway Stations do not transmit electrical Power to neighboring buildings; do not rely on the Tubeway network for long-distance power distribution.
  • Nine connection sockets (front, back, sides) accept Tubeway segments; six bottom sockets accept only when linked by Vertical Tubeway.
  • Builders' Hut operations can be performed while builders are inside the station, enabling immediate construction and cleanup around the station footprint.
  • Placing a station entrance directly against another building’s entrance connects the two without Paths, integrating that building into the transport network.
