Tapper's Shack

Tapper's Shack is a single-occupant production building that assigns one tapper to extract tree products from mature pine and maple trees. Trees ready for tapping show visible droplets on their trunks. Each Tapper's Shack works on fully grown pine and maple trees and converts their periodic harvests into pine resin and maple syrup.

A tapper working a standard 16 work-hour shift harvests roughly 20–22 units of pine resin and 21–23 units of maple syrup in that time frame. Individual tree harvests yield fixed amounts: a pine tree gives 2 pine resin per harvest and a maple tree gives 3 maple syrup per harvest. Pine trees mature in 12 days and can be harvested every 7 days, yielding about 0.286 resin per day per tree; maple trees mature in 30 days and can be harvested every 12 days, yielding about 0.250 syrup per day per tree.

Construction and unlocking follow the tech progression and resource costs shown in-game: unlocking the Tapper's Shack requires a cost of 500 (research/unlock points), and the building requires 20, 20, and 10 of three different construction resources to build. Logs, planks, and gears are part of the manufacturing chain related to the Tapper's Shack: logs are processed, planks are produced, and gears are created elsewhere in the production chain that supports building and using tapping infrastructure.

Tapper's Shacks were introduced in the initial release and later received an updated model and faction variants in Update 4.
