Overview

Assembling Machine Mk.III is the third-tier assembling machine used to automate crafting in Dyson Sphere Program. It is a building that takes in ingredients and produces most regular recipes, whether the output is a component for later manufacturing or a finished building. Like other assemblers, it has a 4×4 footprint and a height of 3, with sorter connection points centered on all four sides.

Among the three assembler variants, Mk.I, Mk.II, and Mk.III, this version is the fastest and also the most power-hungry. Crafting speed scales upward linearly with tier, while power demand rises sharply between upgrades. Mk.III is therefore the preferred choice when throughput matters and the factory can support the extra energy cost.

As a late-tier upgrade, Assembling Machine Mk.III sits on top of the assembler progression chain rather than serving as an early starting point. Mk.I is the basic version built from iron-focused components, while Mk.II and Mk.III require the previous tier assembler plus higher-tier electronic parts and an additional advanced material component. This makes Mk.III a significant investment, but one that pays off in production density and factory output.

Practical considerations for using Assembling Machine Mk.III:

  • It is suited for recipes that need high throughput, especially when a line is bottlenecked by crafting speed rather than by mining or logistics.
  • Because its power demand is higher than lower-tier assemblers, large-scale deployment should be paired with a strong power grid.
  • Its four-sided sorter access makes it easy to build compact production blocks and symmetrical input/output layouts.
  • It is most efficient when used for core manufacturing chains and other frequently repeated recipes, where the faster craft cycle offsets the higher cost of the machine itself.

In factory planning, Mk.III is often the end goal for general-purpose production lines: it provides the fastest assembler speed available in the standard tiered line and is especially valuable when replacing earlier machines in a mature industrial setup.
